I'm actually pretty happy that the summer is over. NYC + summertime = pretty shitty with the humidity and smelly sidewalks and all.
Way back in May, when summer was just kicking off, I swore that I'd try my bestest not to spend one weekend in the city. It almost worked out:
5/28 - Vermont -> Cape Cod road trip
6/4 - Adult Camp in the Berkshires
6/11 - Cape Cod (Grellan + Leslie + Genja)
6/18 - Hamptons + bday #29 (NYC)
6/25 - Boston (for Cousin Michelle bday)
7/2 - Vermont -> Las Vegas (for Katie's bday)
7/9 - Boston (for Katie's wedding)
7/16 - No Data @ 12" (NYC)
7/23 - Vermont (Randy + Grellan + Genja)
7/30 - Nathania's party (NYC)
8/6 - Boston (for Dad's bday)
8/13 - Operation Halfpipe in Vermont (Randy + Youngna + Brook)
8/20 - Vermont (Dianne + Grellan)
8/27 - Rhode Island beach Weekend (Manlio + crew)
9/3 - Cape Cod Flea Market
So, that's 15 weekends total with only 2.5 of them spent in NYC (come'on, the Hamptons wkd was only one day in NYC), so that comes out to be , er, about 83.3% of my summer weekends outside NYC.
I'm actually looking forward to just hanging out in the city over the next few weekends - maybe hit VT a few times before all the leaves disappear. Winter's a different story though - I'm shooting for 30 days on snow (most of which will prob be @ Mount Snow).
