Nice
Map of Europe

Nice (pronounced Niece) was a last minute addition to our itinerary. Michelle and I originally thought that we'd be tight on time when we planned our schedule during the plan ride to London, but it turned out we had days to spare. Known as a summer time getaway for the rich and famous in the French Riveria, Nice would be beautiful if it wasn't for...

...rain. Yup. As soon as we got off the train - and until the moment our mini-vacation was over - it poured. Actually, we had a 30 minute window of calm where we were able to enjoy a view of the Mediterranean Sea in the dry, albeit cold, weather. Whatever - Nice was still a good time.

Although there wasn't a hell of a lot to do for sightseeing things, we did spend a few hours at the Mattise Museum and wandering around the main drag. Wow - I don't know what else I can tell you. We ate at a nice little American restaurant (everyone loves American food) where we pointed at pictures and used makeshift sign language as neither Michelle or I speak French, but everything worked out okay.

Is that it? Apparently. I ran into some girl in the train station who was really good friends with a friend of mine from Syracuse. That's gotta count for something, no? Well, let's journey on.. Oh yeah, the train ride from Rome to Nice and from Nice to Barcelona was madness - sooooo loonng.

Next - on to Barcelona.
